The balm is thicker than a cream and stays where the skin is driest. Shea butter, castor oil, olive oil and sunflower oil form the base; honey and beeswax hold it in place.
Propolis is the ingredient that makes the balm what it is. Bees produce it from conifer resin and the gum of broadleaf trees, and it holds over 300 natural nutrients and antioxidants. Together with vitamin E and olive leaf oil, it is the caring part of the balm.

What it is made of

Beeswax, honey and propolis
Three materials from the same hive. Propolis is the resin bees gather from conifers and broadleaf trees to seal the nest with — which is why it belongs in a balm rather than a lotion.
Shea butter
Shea butter is pressed from the nut of the shea tree, which grows in West Africa. It is solid at room temperature and soft at body heat, and that shift is what you feel as a lotion goes on.
Plant oils
The oil is the fatty phase of a body product and the part the fragrance sits in — an oil carries perfume differently from water, and more slowly. Across the range: sunflower, almond, macadamia and jojoba.
